Culinair Open 2025 Een week om trots op te zijn
Wat hebben we een fantastische week achter de rug! Het Culinair Open is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een van de mooiste tradities op DVH, en ook dit jaar was dat weer duidelijk te merken. Met ruim 520 deelnemers, minstens zoveel enthousiaste toeschouwers en bijna onafgebroken zonneschijn konden we werkelijk spreken van een toernooi waar alles klopte.
De sfeer op het park was de hele week geweldig. Wedstrijden vol strijd en sportiviteit werden afgewisseld met gezelligheid op het terras, waar spelers en bezoekers samen genoten van lekker eten en drinken. Het was een week waarin DVH zich van zijn allerbeste kant liet zien: sportief, culinair en vooral heel gezellig.
Een toernooi van deze omvang is alleen mogelijk dankzij de inzet van een enorme groep vrijwilligers. Van de planning en wedstrijdleiding tot bardiensten, afwas, schoonmaak, parkbeheer en het op- en afbouwen van het terras – zóveel handen waren nodig en jullie hebben dit met elkaar tot een groot succes gemaakt. Echt iets om trots op te zijn! Namens de hele vereniging: dank jullie wel!
Dit jaar hadden we bovendien een primeur: het Culinair Lunch Dagtoernooi. Bijna 60 deelnemers schoven aan voor een sportieve én smakelijke dag. De reacties waren enthousiast, waardoor dit zeker naar meer smaakt. Hoe mooi is het om samen nieuwe tradities te creëren?
Onze dank gaat natuurlijk ook uit naar de sponsoren en restaurants die het toernooi ondersteunden, de wijnbar van Jef die zorgde voor extra gezelligheid, en de pannenkoekenbakkers op zondag die het toernooi in stijl afsloten. Het zijn precies dit soort extra’s die het Culinair Open zijn unieke karakter geven.
Kortom: het was een week om trots op te zijn. Laten we hopen dat de weergoden ons volgend jaar opnieuw gunstig gezind zijn, zodat we deze traditie nog vele jaren kunnen voortzetten.
Tot slot ook nog een oproep: wil jij ook bijdragen aan dit of andere evenementen? Alle hulp – groot of klein – is meer dan welkom. Samen zorgen we ervoor dat DVH blijft bruisen en dat we dit soort bijzondere weken kunnen blijven organiseren.

Volgende stop: Wimbledon-Dagtoernooi 30 augustus
Het tennisseizoen loopt langzaam richting het einde, maar er staat gelukkig nog genoeg op de agenda. Op zaterdag 30 augustus is het namelijk tijd voor het Wimbledon Dagtoernooi. Met inmiddels al meer dan 120 inschrijvingen belooft het wederom een heerlijke dag te worden vol sportiviteit en gezelligheid.

Culinair Open 2025 – A Week to Be Proud Of
What a fantastic week we’ve had! The Culinair Open has now become one of DVH’s most beautiful traditions, and this year once again it truly showed. With over 520 participants, at least as many enthusiastic spectators, and almost uninterrupted sunshine, we can honestly say it was a tournament where everything came together perfectly.
The atmosphere at the park was amazing all week long. Matches full of competition and sportsmanship were alternated with fun on the terrace, where players and visitors enjoyed good food and drinks together. It was a week in which DVH showed itself at its very best: sporty, culinary, and above all, incredibly enjoyable.
A tournament of this scale is only possible thanks to the efforts of a huge group of volunteers. From scheduling and tournament management to bar shifts, dishwashing, cleaning, park maintenance, and setting up and taking down the terrace—so many hands were needed, and together you made it a great success. Truly something to be proud of! On behalf of the entire club: thank you all!
This year also saw a first: the Culinair Lunch Day Tournament. Nearly 60 participants joined for a sporty and tasty day. The reactions were enthusiastic, making it clear that this is something worth continuing. How wonderful it is to create new traditions together!
Our thanks also go to the sponsors and restaurants who supported the tournament, to Jef’s wine bar which added an extra dose of atmosphere, and to the pancake bakers on Sunday who closed the event in style. These are exactly the kinds of extras that give the Culinair Open its unique character.
In short: it was a week to be proud of. Let’s hope the weather gods are kind to us again next year so we can continue this tradition for many years to come.

The tennis season is slowly moving towards its end, but fortunately there is still plenty on the agenda. On Saturday 30 August it’s time for the Wimbledon Day Tournament. With already more than 120 registrations, it promises once again to be a wonderful day full of sport and fun.
